Antony Kahn is a consultant to Taussig Cherrie Fildes and a former principal of the firm, where he has worked since 2010. He is an Accredited Family Law Specialist and has practised exclusively in family law for more than fifteen years.
Originally from Auckland, he studied commerce and law at the University of Auckland and holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne, and that commercial grounding shows in his practice. He is sought out for financial matters and the commercial side of family law: complex corporate and trust structures, the protection of third-party interests, and trials and appeals in the Federal Circuit and Family Court. His firm notes his involvement, at first instance and on appeal, in a leading case on what counts as a de facto relationship.

Taussig Cherrie Fildes is a specialist family law firm on Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD, founded in 2000 by Debra Cherrie and the late Michael Taussig QC. In its 2026 edition Doyle’s Guide ranks the firm First Tier, its highest firm tier, in both its national list of family and divorce law firms (one of six firms) and its Melbourne list (one of five). It is the only firm in both first tiers that practises family law alone. Both named principals, Debra Cherrie and Paul Fildes, are ranked Preeminent in Melbourne.
