Elisa Carayannis is special counsel at Taussig Cherrie Fildes and an Accredited Family Law Specialist. She has practised exclusively in family law since 2009, joined the firm in 2016 and was appointed special counsel in November 2021.
Her practice covers both sides of the hardest family law work. On the financial side she handles spousal maintenance, applications to set aside transactions, third-party disputes and financial agreements. On the parenting side she acts in high-conflict matters, including allegations of sexual abuse and alienation and interstate and international relocations, in litigation in the Federal Circuit and Family Court and through alternative dispute resolution.
Her firm describes her as empathetic to her clients' needs, an excellent communicator, and committed to the best possible outcome, reached pragmatically and in good time. Doyle's Guide recognised her for parenting and children's matters in Victoria in 2018 and 2019. She holds a Master of Applied Law, a Bachelor of Laws, and an arts degree with a Spanish major completed at the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, and has volunteered with the Women's Legal Service.

Taussig Cherrie Fildes is a specialist family law firm on Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD, founded in 2000 by Debra Cherrie and the late Michael Taussig QC. In its 2026 edition Doyle’s Guide ranks the firm First Tier, its highest firm tier, in both its national list of family and divorce law firms (one of six firms) and its Melbourne list (one of five). It is the only firm in both first tiers that practises family law alone. Both named principals, Debra Cherrie and Paul Fildes, are ranked Preeminent in Melbourne.
