Janelle Wilson is special counsel at Taussig Cherrie Fildes. She joined the firm in August 2022 from a top tier firm in New Zealand, where she specialised in complex trust and financial settlements, and was admitted to practice in Victoria on 1 August 2022. She has worked mainly in family law since her first admission in July 2017.
Her background in trusts and complex settlements is a real asset in family law property work, and she now advises across the whole of family law: parenting arrangements, spousal maintenance applications, financial orders and financial agreements. She also brings experience in commercial law and wills and estates, which helps where a separation touches a family business or an estate.

Taussig Cherrie Fildes is a specialist family law firm on Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD, founded in 2000 by Debra Cherrie and the late Michael Taussig QC. In its 2026 edition Doyle’s Guide ranks the firm First Tier, its highest firm tier, in both its national list of family and divorce law firms (one of six firms) and its Melbourne list (one of five). It is the only firm in both first tiers that practises family law alone. Both named principals, Debra Cherrie and Paul Fildes, are ranked Preeminent in Melbourne.
