Kylie Sanders is a principal of Taussig Cherrie Fildes and an Accredited Family Law Specialist. She has practised only family law since her admission in 2009, starting at the firm as a legal trainee under the late Michael Taussig QC, and was made a principal in July 2020.
Before that she was a legal associate at the Family Court of Australia to Justices Young and Cronin, so she knows how family law is decided from the inside of the court as well as from the client's side. Her practice spans the hardest end of property work, including matters involving publicly listed companies, trusts, estates and partnerships, as well as financial agreements, spousal maintenance, family law tax issues and parenting disputes, including cases involving family violence and proposed relocations.
The firm describes her approach as strategic and logical, and says she can quickly understand complicated issues and give clear, timely advice. Her peers agree: Doyle's Guide has ranked her in its Melbourne family and divorce list every year since 2021, and in 2026 she is Leading in that list and Recommended for both high-value property and parenting matters in Victoria. She is also a qualified Regulation 67B arbitrator, mentors the firm's junior lawyers, and in 2018 co-authored a conference paper with Kristy Fuge that her firm says was recommended to the Australian Law Reform Commission's review of the family law system.
